Jaermann & Stübi Seve Ballesteros Golf Watch for True Fans

There are limited editions — and then there are watches that carry a true piece of history. The Jaermann & Stübi Severiano Ballesteros Limited Edition belongs unmistakably to the latter. It is a unique tribute to one of the greatest golfers of all time, created in a way that quite literally fuses a sporting legend with a horological artifact: the cases of all 50 pieces are forged from the original irons Seve Ballesteros used to win the Chunichi Crowns Open in 1991. And it is the watch numbered 02 that is now available through the Chronoshop pre-owned program.

Ballesteros won the Chunichi Crowns Open on the Japanese PGA Tour with a score of 275 strokes, five under par. His set — irons 1 through 9, a pitching wedge, and a sand wedge — was carefully analyzed by experts from RWTH Aachen and Dr. Bergfeld Schmiedetechnik in Solingen. This was not a romantic recycling of metal, but a scientifically controlled process. The club heads had to undergo metallurgical testing to create an alloy suitable for cavity-free casting. Each club produced a single casting, which was then forged at 1,200 °C into its final watch-case form.

The result? Each watch can be precisely traced back to the specific iron Seve Ballesteros held in his hands during his victory. The caseback is engraved with the club’s designation, and an accompanying certificate signed by Ballesteros confirms the authenticity of the material. Owning this watch means owning a piece of golf history — an authentic fragment of the story of the man who changed the face of European golf.

Like all Jaermann & Stübi models, this edition features a mechanical golf counter: a complication that allows the player to record strokes per hole, track the total score, and compare it to their handicap. The automatic movement sits inside a 44 mm case, complemented by a dark blue dial, bezel and packaging — Ballesteros’s favorite color.

Limited to just 50 pieces, this model is a true collector’s rarity, yet its significance reaches beyond craftsmanship. Ballesteros was a symbol of courage, creativity and indomitable spirit — a golfer who could score even from a parking lot or dense rough, and who led the European Ryder Cup team to historic victories. This watch carries his energy and legacy. It is offered at 590,000 CZK.
